Get to Know Dr. Paola Velazquez
A proud lifelong New Yorker who grew up on Long Island, Dr. Velazquez was immersed in dentistry from the very beginning thanks to her dentist parents. Now as part of our team, she’s eager to follow in their footsteps, learn from her fellow team members, and most importantly, change people’s lives for the better one bright and healthy smile at a time.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Growing up with two dentists certainly left an impression on Dr. Velazquez, and what she remembers most from her childhood was just how much her parents loved what they did. They were always eager to meet people, learn about their craft, and use their skills to serve the community. Just like them, Dr. Velazquez was naturally drawn to the combination of art and science that goes into the profession, and she liked working with her hands from an early age. It seemed like the perfect fit, and going to dental school and starting her career only confirmed this fact!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Velazquez began her collegiate career at Binghamton University before going on to earn her dental degree from the Touro College of Dental Medicine. During her residency, she gained valuable experience and hands-on training in all aspects of dental care, putting her skills to the test working with medically complex patients.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
When she isn’t looking after patients, you’ll usually find Dr. Velazquez on the court playing tennis, spending quality time with friends and family, or relaxing at home by reading a good book or playing with her dog.
